Attorney Bierstedt Receives Complete Dismissal of Professional Liability Lawsuit

Attorney Clarissa Bierstedt achieved summary judgment and complete dismissal of a professional liability lawsuit filed against her client seeking in excess of $900K in damages. Plaintiffs brought claims of negligent misrepresentation and negligence against their insurance agency stemming from an alleged failure to notify their insurer of a motor vehicle accident. In her motion, Clarissa successfully argued the negligent misrepresentation claim was precluded by Iowa law and the plaintiffs failed to prove causation of their negligence claim. The Court agreed and dismissed the case with prejudice.
