A successful trial lawyer understands the “big picture” in each case. Tyler Smith does just that: after analyzing the facts and applying the law, he helps clients see the “big picture” or long-term strategy of the case. This allows him to work with clients to resolve cases in the most efficient way possible. Tyler focuses his practice in the areas of workers' compensation, personal injury, and employment litigation.

While at Drake Law School, Tyler was Editor-in-Chief of the Drake Law Review, and a member of the Moot Court Negotiation Team. He received the Student Bar Association Outstanding Student Leader Award (2016), and the Iowa State Bar Association Graduating Senior Award (2016).

On a Personal Note

When Tyler’s not working, you can find him spending time with his wife, Grace. He also enjoys playing golf and spending time with family and friends, especially at Okoboji during the summer. Tyler volunteers with his church on the Financial Accountability Committee and as a Student Ministries volunteer.
