Kathryn R. Johnson
Kate is a licensed attorney in the States of Iowa and Illinois. Becoming an attorney was a logical choice for Kate, as she possesses both assertiveness and passion for dispute resolution. She strives to help clients protect their interests through preventative measures and, when necessary, litigation. She has worked extensively in the areas of workers’ compensation, personal injury and employment law. During her time in law school, Kate served as the law clerk to the Industrial Commissioner of the Iowa Division of Workers’ Compensation, and was awarded the Iowa Workers’ Compensation Advisory Committee’s Scholarship.

Kate is a member of the American Bar Association, Iowa Bar Association, Illinois Bar Association, Polk County Bar Association, and Iowa Defense Counsel Association. Kate is also a member of the Iowa Association of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers and serves on the IAWC Planning Committee. She served on the Board of the Iowa Organization of Women Attorneys for five years. In 2017, Kate was recognized as a Top 40 Under 40 Litigation Lawyer in the state of Iowa by the American Society of Legal Advocates.
On a Personal Note
Away from the office, Kate enjoys spending time with her family. Having grown up in Iowa City, Kate is also a huge Hawkeye fan, and looks forward to Hawkeye football every year – for better or worse. She also enjoys serving on the board for Bras for the Cause, a non-profit organization raising funds for breast and cervical cancer screenings.
